ABOUT ME

I am a specialist speech and language therapist with over 17 years of experience. I completed my degree in Speech and Language Pathology at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2002. Like many other independent therapists, I started out my career as a speech and language therapist in the NHS. After a fantastic 12 years, developing new skills, training students and supervising some of the more newly qualified therapists, I made the decision to concentrate on my own business, Speech Masters, which I had been running alongside NHS work for a number of years.

I am skilled in assessing and treating children with a wide range of difficulties including language delay/disorder, speech delay/disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, complex needs, special educational needs and stammering. I spent a number of years in the NHS working as a specialist for early years children with complex needs. In addition, I held the title of link coordinator for the cleft lip and palate service for Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

I am a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and hold an enhanced CRB check. I maintain my professional skills with regular CPD training and opportunities.

On a more personal note, I am a wife and Mum to three children. As a Mum I understand the anxieties and practical aspects that come along with parenting and feel that this makes my approach one that is the best fit for the whole family. I am a very calm and approachable person and love to work my magic in getting the best communication possible for your child.
